What is the Tribute Fund?
The Tribute Fund is intended to pay tribute to the inspiring women in our
lives. Donation payments will be made to the Tribute Fund, starting at
$25 with no upper limit. Proceeds will go to organizations that
enhance women’s economic empowerment, human rights and right to
peace.
What are the types of organizations that will
receive donations made to the Tribute Fund?
Funds will be awarded to innovative women’s, peace and empowerment
organizations, both large and small including the Alliance for Peace Building,
Global Student Leadership, International Women’s Health Coalition,
Women’s World Banking, World Pulse and others.
How can my organization be considered as a
featured organization?
Please contact us at global@globaltributefund.org for an application.
Who is behind it, and why was it
created?
Dr. Sarah McCue founded the Tribute Fund through her non-profit organization,
Women with 2020 Vision. She started the Tribute Fund because we don’t
often take the time to express appreciation to women who have made a difference
in the lives of others, and additional funds are desperately needed to fund
peace and women’s empowerment programs.
Dr. McCue is also co-founder of The Remembering Site, a non-profit organization
dedicated to allowing anyone anywhere to write, publish and share their life
story. She started The Remembering Site because her father died before she could
ask him all the questions about his life that she should have.
Dr. McCue has been an adviser to United Nations and other international
development institutions on trade development, e-commerce, technology and
women’s empowerment since 1988. She spent several years with the
Michigan Small Business Development Center as Director of Communications.
Her seven published books include an award-winning study of Internet
marketing; Trade Secrets (published in over 60 countries); Secrets of Electronic
Commerce (published in over 40 countries); and Farce to Force: Winning
E-Commerce Strategies.
She has served on several boards including the Alliance for Peace Building,
Transparency in Media, and United Nations Fund for Women New York
Chapter.
How is the Tribute Fund governed and managed?
The Tribute Fund is administered and managed by Women with 2020 Vision, a 501(c)
3 non-profit organization dedicated to women’s empowerment, incorporated
on June 28, 2004 in the State of New York.
The Women with 2020 Vision organization is governed by its Board of
Directors and Executive Board.
Payments are distributed to featured organizations from December
15-December 31 of each year. The Tribute Fund will deduct no more than 10%
of total contributions to cover operating expenses.
After we have reached a critical mass of donations (we launched the
initiative in March, 2008), a clear, transparent, and up-to-date list of
donations will be made available at www.tributefund.org.
